Guardians of the Hearth
You are the bearers of the children... who nurture them and establish within them the habits of their lives. No other work reaches so close to divinity as does the nurturing of the sons and daughters of God.
Together with the Bible, the Book of Mormon is an indispensable witness of the doctrines of Christ and His divinity.
Elder Dallin H. Oaks, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, General Conference, Oct 2011
We should all consider what He Himself taught about who He was and what He was sent to earth to do.
Elder Richard G. Scott, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, General Conference, Oct 2011
Scriptures are like packets of light that illuminate our minds and give place to guidance and inspiration from on high.
Elder Robert D. Hales, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, General Conference, Oct 2011
The purpose of our life on earth is to grow, develop, and be strengthened through our own experiences.

Indonesian Water Project Brings Clean Water to 28,000 Villagers
By: Elder & Sister Smith
The sounds of ancient Javanese music resounded among the mountains high above Solo, Indonesia where a ceremony was held at the completion of a water project that brought clean, fresh water to four villages for the first time. Over 35 kilometers of pipe transported clean water from high mountain springs into the villages and homes of children and their parents and grandparents.
This fresh water will enable the villages to have sanitary conditions for bathing, washing clothes and dishes, showering and toilet facilities. A recent Health Matters article stated that 88% of all diseases are caused by unsafe drinking water, inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene. This water project will help these villagers be much healthier.

"Really ... It's Like a Blessing from Heaven" One Year After LDSC Funded Clean Water Project Development in Ngadirojo By: Haryono Soemadi
Some residents in the Ngadirojo Village area, District of Ampel, Boyolali Regency, whom I met on Tuesday afternoon (04/10/11), were so excited when asked about the changes in their everyday lives after a year of construction of water projects funded by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in their village.
"This is such a tremendous help for us. We are for sure, particularly our children, much healthier than before. In the 90's, clean water was like gold. We had to buy it. Often I had to walk 2.5 kilometers, twice a day in order to obtain 3-4 jerry cans of water at the top of this village. During the dry season, we could fight all day to obtain clean water for the needs of our family" said a housewife, Parsih (47).
"The source of water was far from fit for human consumption. Besides for consumption, the water was used for washing and defecating for all people here. At that time, people only took a bath once a day. Reservoir was often very dirty and became the habitat of mosquito " said Margono (42), the village chief of Ngadirojo, who also told about the endemic incidence of dengue fever that hit the region in 2008.

ACT WITH FAITH MESSAGE FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE 1st STAKE IN INDONESIA

Children of our Father in Heaven “are not objects to be acted upon, but agents to act by the power of faith,” Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles taught at a meeting for priesthood leaders, as members of the Church rejoiced at the creation of the Jakarta Indonesia Stake, the first stake of the Church in Indonesia.
Follow the Holy Ghost
Elder Bednar reminded the leaders that “the Holy Ghost works all week long, not just on Sundays.” Each priesthood leader had the opportunity to shake hands with Elder Bednar as part of his witness to them, in what proved to be a spiritually edifying experience.
