FORMATION OF JAKARTA INDONESIA STAKE INSTITUTE OF RELIGION
ADVISORY COUNCIL AND THE INSTITUTE CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

President Eko Putranto, in his opening talk confessed that one time he advised his beloved daughter, Kenya, to skip Institute class because she looked exhausted when she came home from her classes. As Head of Religion Institution Council of Jakarta Stake, Indonesia, he just realized the importance of Institute class for the single adults. President of Jakarta Stake, President Djarot Subiantoro, also emphasized the importance of the Institute council as a continuance of the establishment of Jakarta Stake; that is to assist the stake’s single adults to become spiritually independent and mature.

The Religion Institute Student Council established consists of: Br. Untung Pambudi from Bogor Ward as Chairman, Sr. Kenya Putranto from Tangerang 1st Ward and Br. Abdi Damanik from Bekasi 2nd Ward as 1st and 2nd Counsellors, and Br. Johan Salim from Jakarta 1st Ward, Br. Wiwid Sirait from Bekasi 1st Ward and Br. Dio Bramastyo from Tangerang 2nd Ward as council members. In 2012, they have set their goals to reach more potential Institute students (ages 18-30) as well to increase attendance rate from 36% to 50%. The Council will be reorganized annually to give experience to others to contribute to the program. In addition to the establishment of the Council, the meeting was also to celebrate the Stake’s first Institute class Christmas together. A unique aspect of this Christmas celebration was that the meal provided by a number of street vendors. The next Institute class activity will be Valentine’s Day Celebration on February 11th 2012 .
